One club to keep an eye on in the upcoming Indian Super League season is FC Goa. After moving from Hyderabad FC in 2023, head coach Manolo Marquez will be in his second season with the Gaurs in 2024–25. This might be the year the team finally wins a major championship.
The Spanish strategist, who is concurrently the senior men's head coach of India, has won the ISL playoffs with Hyderabad FC and received high appreciation for his work with the young Indian players. His experience combined with FCG's audacious transfers can eventually lead the team to victory in the next campaign.
The supporters would like to see FC Goa contend for the ISL Shield as well as the Trophy in the 2024–2025 season. The depth of the roster, the calibre of the new players, and the head coach's background in Indian football make the Gaurs a formidable opponent.
Laxmikant Kattimani, for example, will be in goal, while Sandesh Jhingan's presence in defence will offer plenty of backup. The defensive unit can benefit further from the experience of Odei Onaindia and the enthusiasm of Jay Gupta. Borja Herrera and Carl McHugh are the two standout performers in the midfield among a good group of players.
The FCG forward department is probably going to have the biggest influence. The supporters are ecstatic about Armando Sadiku and Dejan Drazic's presence. Players who can win games include Boris Singh, Mohammed Yasir, Iker Guarrotxena, and others.
