Travis Head has struck four international centuries against India since 2023.
Very few batsmen have terrorized Indian cricket and its fans with the ferocity Travis Head has had since last year. Since his return to the Australian side in Ashes 2021/22, the left-hander had been changing games with the shift in momentum in no time. He has been especially emphatic against India during this period.
Travis Head scored his fourth international century and third in test cricket against India since the beginning of 2023. Last year, two came in the finals of the ICC World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup. The other two came in back-to-back test matches during the present BGT 2024-25 season, after an 89-point score.
After missing out on a three-figure score by 11 runs in the first test in Perth, Head hammered 140 off 141 balls in the second test in Adelaide, securing Australia's series-leveling victory.
Then, in the third test at the Gabba in Brisbane, Head unleashed himself once more on the Indian bowlers, who lacked the spice and wicket-taking ability that they displayed in the previous two tests.
Head ignored the fact that he had been bowled for a duck in his last three test innings at the Gabba, smashing a blistering counter-attacking century off 115 balls.
India appeared to be on top as they reduced Australia to 75/3. But then the real war began: Head versus Indian bowlers, and the southpaw emerged victorious once more.
He has hit 13 fours in his innings thus far. While his cut shots were fascinating to see, Head ramped and pulled disdainfully, with India committing field placement errors.
As he approached his century, supporters flooded social media with remarks praising the left-hander and his unique fondness for the Indian cricket team.
