Titans will host the first leg of the season.
The Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 begins with a bang as Pawan Sehrawat's Telugu Titans take on Pardeep Narwal's Bengaluru Bulls at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on October 18.
This time, the league stage will be played in three cities only: Hyderabad, Noida, and Pune. The Pro Kabaddi League is being conducted in cluster caravan format and each day has a double header. There are only two rest days throughout the league stage.
After the season's opener, the Titans will face yet another team from southern India, Tamil Thalaivas, the following day. With eight games scheduled to be held at Hyderabad, the home leg of the season comes to an end for the franchise in a match against the champions Puneri Paltan on November 9.
The next leg will start from November 14, when they will face the host UP Yoddhas in Noida. The Titans will feature in seven matches here in Northern India, and it is then that the league schedule ends off with a match against two-time winner Jaipur Pink Panthers on November 30.
The third and final leg in Pune commences for the franchisee from Hyderabad on 04 December with the reverse tie against the Yoddhas. They play seven matches in total at the Balewadi Sports Complex and their league stage campaign will come to a close on December 20, when they will lock horns with the home side.
Twelve of the Titans' games would be starting at 8:00 pm. The remaining ten will be the second game of the respective days' double headers. This is interesting; they would be playing the first game 6 out of 8 times in Hyderabad and playing the second game of the day 5 out of 7 times in Noida.
Out of all matches, each PKL 11 team will play 22 matches. The top two teams will straight proceed to the semifinal rounds, and the last four teams will play in the Eliminators to compete for a chance to the remaining two semifinals.
Telugu Titans are the only original eight PKL sides that did not win any title till date. Not that that would have been much of a consolation for finishing at the bottom of the pile in each of the last three seasons, but it seems they have deteriorated as when last season they could manage only 21 points in total, shockingly winning only two out of twenty-two matches. The first reason for that was the lack of support to Indian team captain Pawan Sehrawat, who for personal reasons ended last season with the third-highest raid points.
The Titans have tried to make amends with the recruitment of Manjeet Sharma and Vijay Malik, both of whom were spotted some seasons ago by the team's new coach Krishan Hooda. Sanjeevi and Praful Zaware, who will be retained after giving proof of their skills last season, too will feature in the raiding department.
The other good thing for the defense will be Krishan Dhull, who was the league's second-best defender last season. They shall hope for better performances from the likes of Ajit Pawar, Shankar Gadai, and Milad Jabbari so that the team becomes well-balanced.
