Will we see The Rock in action again at next month's Survivor Series PLE? Only time will tell.
Since his comeback in 1996, The Rock has had a chance to be in many WWE big-match battles on the ring against legends and WWE superstars. Let's take a look at 7 WWE superstars whom The Rock has had solid battles with in the ring.
1. The Rock & John Cena vs Awesome Truth
This was one of those unscheduled alliances between John Cena and The Rock when he paired up to take on tag team known as The Awesome Truth who were composed by the tag team duo- The Miz and R-Truth. Overlooking their prior enmity, Cena drafted The Rock. And in the end, it was the Spinebuster and People's Elbow of The Rock that cheered them towards winning.
2. The Rock and Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins
The most recent interaction was witnessed in the headliner of WrestleMania XL, where The Rock appeared with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth 'Freakin' Rollins. The crowd enjoyed a thrilling event as The Rock and Reigns came out victorious, The Rock providing his People's Elbow to finish off the match.
But, The Rock has another thing coming for Cody Rhodes. After Cody Rhodes had won, Bad Blood 2024 witnessed the arrival of The Rock in a shocking fashion and indicated that he still hadn't completed his business with the WWE Undisputed Champion. Are we going to witness The Final Boss take on Rhodes at Survivor Series?
3. Rock 'n Sock Connection vs Evolution
The Rock, of course, had one of the greatest tagging teams by combining with Mick Foley; they called it the Rock 'n' Sock Connection. At WrestleMania XX in 2004, The Rock and Mick Foley met Evolution in a highly-uneven 3-on-2 handicap match. They fought extremely hard to come out on top but were defeated after Randy Orton landed an RKO, which sealed the deal for Evolution to win.
4. The Rock vs CM Punk
The Rock and CM Punk battled at Elimination Chamber 2013 with much relevance of the WWE Championship. Towards the last leg of the match, after being disrupted by Paul Heyman and when The Rock delivered the People's Elbow, for his second time, The Rock applied a second Rock Bottom to earn himself the victory and to regain his WWE Championship.
5. The Rock vs Erick Rowan
During WrestleMania 32, The Rock stepped into the ring to face an impromptu opponent in Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family. After being interrupted by Rowan's allies, The Rock issued a challenge to Rowan and defeated him in record time; just 6 seconds made him the winner of the shortest match in WrestleMania history.
6. The Rock vs John Cena
This is perhaps one of the most well-known feuds in WWE history between The Rock and John Cena and these two men faced off at WrestleMania XXVIII and WrestleMania 29. In their first bout, The Rock bested Cena, but when it counted the most, he was beaten by Cena as The Great One was defeated by Cena to take back his WWE Championship that had been captured by The Rock.
7. The Rock vs. Roman Reigns: Is this the Future of Showdowns?
While the ring has seen many exchanges between The Rock and legends, the face-to-face encounter between The Rock and Roman Reigns is eagerly being sought after by fans. Can these titans eventually face each other? The WWE Universe is in an upbeat mood over this possibility.
These seven matches alone speak to how legendary The Rock has been in the WWE: teaming up with John Cena to take down legends like Ric Flair and CM Punk. For this reason, the influence of the effort of The Rock on professional wrestling is absolute. As rumors fly about what his next appearance might be at Survivor Series, only time will tell what's next for "The Final Boss."
