The final match between Spain and England on 15 July 2024 from 12:30 IST
The players will likely not be thinking about it when they step to the pitch at the Olympiastadion on Sunday, but Spain and England will be competing for a substantial financial prize in the UEFA Euro 2024 final.
The winning team in Berlin will receive a cheque for €8 million ($8.7 million), which is based on figures released in December by UEFA, the body in charge of overseeing European football.
They already received cash prizes at the European Championship this summer in addition to this. The following amounts are awarded to teams that progress through the competition with respect to the €331 million ($361 million) total prize fund for Euro 2024, according to divisions down by UEFA.
How much Prize Money Both the team will earn if they win Euro 2024?
Spain is still expected to win all three of their Group B matches and take home the whole €28.25 million ($30.9 million) prize bonus. After England drew two of their group C games, the English team will receive €27.5 million ($29.8 million) if they win the Cup on Sunday.
UEFA claims that the prize money for Euro 2024 will be the same as for Euro 2020, which was rescheduled for summer 2021 because to the COVID-19 epidemic. The highest prize money went to Italy, who had won the trophy three years earlier after defeating England on penalties after emerging victorious from the group stage.
In an attempt to make up for their heartbreaking 2021 final, England is going for a first-ever men's European Championship victory. This action would end the team managed by Gareth Southgate's missing of significant titles.
The 1966 World Cup was the English men's team's only significant tournament win till date.
Spain is trying to win a fourth continental title, which would set a record. La Roja has previously won the European Championship in 1964, 2008, and 2012. They currently share the title of most decorated team in the Euros with Germany after winning three tournaments.
