With the convincing 4-1 win of India in the T20I series over Zimbabwe, team camps are actually getting ready to turn their attention towards Sri Lanka's T20I and ODI series starting Saturday, July 27.
Gautam Gambhir, the new coach of the side representing Indian cricket, would see his first assignment in the form of these six white-ball games in Sri Lanka.
Date and Venues:
The T20I series will wrap up on July 30 in Pallekele, and the ODIs will take place on August 2, 4, and 7 in Colombo.
Squad announcement date:
The India squad for the Sri Lanka series is expected to be announced by Sunday, July 21. The BCCI selection committee will soon finalize the team for this tour. Many players from the squad led by Shubman Gill in the Zimbabwe series are likely to be included again. Hardik Pandya is set to be named the permanent T20I captain.
Most likely Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson, Ravi Bishnoi, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan are possibly going to fly out with the team to Sri Lanka as well.
